Action 2.2: Catalogue of sources and quantities of waste oils and petroleum residues produced in Greece
This action will focus on the production of a catalogue of existing facilities and companies that produce or collect waste oils and petroleum residues from shipping sector and industries. This will include the examination and registration of sources and quantities produced annually in Greece, as well as qualitative composition by source category and the breakdown of the type of waste oils and petroleum residues produced.
Action 2.3: Identifying chemical composition: chemical analysis of samples to define their composition and the degree of mixture of different types of residue
Samples will be collected from the selected sources. Samples will undergo a chemical analysis to define their composition and the degree of mixture of different types of residue. A lab will be set-up by Cyclon to conduct the chemical analysis of the 166 samples collected from different sources. Samples will also be taken from the pilot installations on the ANEK vessels and analysed (see task 3.2).
